American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) hosted its 2022 Spring Gala at the Metropolitan Club in New York City, honoring Lena Biörck Kaplan and renowned architect James Stewart Polshek, with special guest Liv Ullmann. The Gala was a festive and memorable evening. Lena Biörck Kaplan received ASF’s Niels Poulson Award, presented by ASF Co-Chair Eugene V. Kokot and ASF Executive Trustee Liv Ullmann, and James Stewart Polshek received ASF’s Cultural Award, presented by ASF President Edward P. Gallagher and Eugene V. Kokot.
Other highlights included a performance by 2018 ASF Birgit Nilsson Award-winning soprano Jessica Faselt, a cocktail reception and dancing, and music by Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks. All proceeds from the Gala will benefit ASF’s initiatives to promote cultural and education exchange between the U.S. and Nordic countries.
