Spring Gala 2019

American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) hosted its annual Spring Gala on May 30 at the Metropolitan Club, honoring Edward E. Elson, former Ambassador to Denmark, and iconic actress, director, and humanitarian Liv Ullmann, with special guest H.R.H. Princess Benedikte of Denmarks. As always, the Gala was a festive and memorable evening. Liv Ullmann received ASF’s Gold Medal, presented by Rupert Friend and Aimee Mullins, and Ambassador Elson received the ASF Award for Distinguished Public Service, presented by H.R.H. Princess Benedikte.

Other highlights included a performance by 2018 ASF Birgit Nilsson Award-winning soprano Jessica Faselt, a cocktail reception and dancing, and music by Peter Duchin Orchestra. All proceeds from the Gala will benefit ASF’s initiatives to promote cultural and education exchange between the U.S. and Nordic countries.
