Since opening in October 2000, Scandinavia House: The Nordic Center in America has been the permanent home for the American-Scandinavian Foundation to promote intellectual and cultural exchange between the United States and the Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Designed by the internationally renowned Polshek Partnership Architects (now Ennead Architects), Scandinavia House is a leading forum for Nordic culture through exhibitions; screenings and talks on critically acclaimed Nordic cinema; lectures, symposia, and concerts; and family workshops and programs. Since opening, Scandinavia House has welcomed more than 3 million visitors attending over 3,000 programs.
