Heimbold Family Children’s Playing and Learning Center Aide
The American-Scandinavian Foundation/Scandinavia House seeks a part-time aide for its Heimbold Family Children’s Playing and Learning Center. Responsibilities include providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for young children, helping to organize and plan activities for children, and providing information to parents and others about the center and other programs at Scandinavia House. Up to 18 hours per week, including Saturday afternoons. Prior experience with children and/or coursework in early childhood education important.

Part-time Visitor Services Assistant
The American-Scandinavian Foundation seeks a part-time Visitors Services Assistant to welcome visitors to Scandinavia House, provide information about events, programs and exhibitions; keep accurate counts of visitors to Scandinavia House, and maintain a daily log of all activities. The individual will be responsible for sales of tickets to events and programs, and maintaining reservations lists, and may also assist with programs and events held at Scandinavia House.
Minimum 15-20 hours a week until early evening and including Saturdays. Knowledge of and interest in Nordic culture a plus; communication and computer skills a must. Position is available only on an as-needed basis.

Scandinavia House Events Assistant
The American-Scandinavian Foundation seeks a part-time Events Assistant to provide support for events held at Scandinavia House by external institutions. Responsibilities include meeting with clients to discuss logistics, setting up and breaking down furniture and audio visual equipment, and being on site during events to help with concerns and needs of the clients; ideal job for student in the hospitality field or a recent graduate with a degree in that field. 20-25 hours a week depending on the schedule of events, which may include weekends and evenings. Prior experience in event rentals or catering, and knowledge of A/V equipment, is preferred but not required.

The American-Scandinavian Foundation/Scandinavia House seeks a Staff Accountant to work closely with the Controller and assist in all general areas of accounting including but not limited to A/P, A/R, and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will also provide support to the Controller during year end audit.
Qualifications: B.A. in Accounting or related field of study, 1-2 years’ experience in general areas, preferable with a non-profit organization. Strong communications skills and attention to detail a must. Strong Excel knowledge important; knowledge of Blackbaud and/or Fund E-Z financial software a plus.

Part-time Temporary Positions at The Shop @ Scandinavia House
Part-time sales positions in a museum-style shop. Sales/retail experience, art/design knowledge, and fluency in a Scandinavian/Nordic language preferred. Flexible hours.
Also, Receiving/Stock positions. Computer knowledge a must, attention to detail required. Retail experience a plus.
