Spring Gala 2017

05-11-2017

American-Scandinavian Foundation’s  2017 Spring Gala took place on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Metropolitan Club in New York City.  As always, the Gala was a festive and memorable evening. The focus of this year’s event was a tribute to Finland on the 100th Anniversary of its independence.

Highlights included presentation of the ASF Gold Award to the Honorable John F. Kerry, United States’ 68th Secretary of State for his work on a wide range of global issues including nuclear proliferation, climate change, and humanitarian crises; the ASF Award for Distinguished Public Service to Finnish Nobel Laureate, Bengt Holmström for his work in Economics; and presentation of the Niels Poulson Award to Linda Nordberg, a dedicated ASF trustee, former Vice Chairman for Finland, and Vice Chairman for the U.S.

Thanks to all who attended and to those who couldn’t attend but made a donation to ASF!
