Temporary Work Permit
If you have arranged both an internship and housing, contact ASF at training@amscan.org to see if we can help you get a temporary Work Permit.
ASF is able to assist you obtain a temporary Work Permit if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident over 21 years of age.
- Your internship is in Finland or Sweden.
ASF can help only with temporary Work/Residence Permits. Under no circumstances can ASF provide assistance with permanent relocation, e.g. permanent residency, citizenship.
Each Scandinavian country has its own eligibility requirements. If you do not meet those, ASF cannot help you obtain a temporary Work Permit.
Please keep in mind that Work Permit applications take months, the exact number depending on the country and how busy the consular and immigration authorities are. You should budget 3-4 months before your planned departure date for your work permit application. If you do not have your work permit by your planned departure from the United States, you will have to delay your departure.
