ASF Fellowships for Nordic Citizens
The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers over $500,000 in funding to Nordic citizens to undertake study or research programs at the graduate and post-graduate level in the United States for up to one year. Candidates from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden are recommended to ASF by our cooperating organizations. The number and size of awards granted annually varies by country. ASF AT SOM Fellowship in Architecture
SOM and ASF will be accepting applications from post-graduates and mid-career architects holding Scandinavian citizenship seeking experience in interior design at a leading architecture firm in New York City.
Fellows are awarded a six-month, paid internship at SOM’s office on Wall Street.

As a Fellow of the American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF), you are responsible for providing ASF with reports throughout the course of your program. Please review the following three report forms to determine which reports are pertinent to your fellowship timeline. Please note that award payments are contingent on the submission of these reports. Please email these reports to grants@amscan.org
PROGRESS REPORTS
Interim Report (For 6-12 month-long projects only) Must be submitted by every ASF Fellow spending more than six months abroad.
Final Narrative Report (For all projects) Must be submitted by all ASF Fellows no later than 60 days after the end of the fellowship period.
REQUIRED FORMS FOR AWARD PAYMENT
Arrival Report (Microsoft Word)
Must be submitted by every Scandinavian Fellow upon arrival in the U.S.
Social Security Number (SSN) or ITIN: Please note that every ASF Fellow must provide ASF with a U.S. SSN or ITIN before award payments can be made.
TAX FORMS BY NORDIC COUNTRY
Tax regulations applicable to your ASF award vary significantly for citizens from one country to another, so please familiarize yourself with your U.S. tax obligations by consulting the section below appropriate to your nationality. Please note that Scandinavians who are here in the U.S. as Permanent Residents (possessing a green card) have the same tax obligations as U.S. citizens and should consult the section “For Americans.”
