Internship position

PLACEMENT OFFER - BIOTECHNOLOGY


Available through the joint program of The American-Scandinavian Foundation and The Centre for International Mobility in Finland

Location: VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Espoo, Finland

Training offered:
The trainee will carry out scientific research at VTT on the immunology team. The focus of the research is in the development of recombinant therapeutic and diagnostic antibodies. The trainee will work in the allergy project in developing novel reagents for allergen diagnostics. The work will include modern antibody engineering techniques such as recombinant DNA techniques, bacterial cell production and purification of recombinant proteins and their characterisation with various techniques.

Training Period: Six months in 2008

Working hours: 36 1/4 hours per week

Salary: Scholarship from The Centre for International Mobility of € 670 per month for a maximum of six months.

Accommodation: The Centre will provide housing at no charge.

Background required:

Field of study: Major in molecular biology or biotechnology

Study year: Junior, Senior or recent graduate within two years of graduation

Language skills: English mother tongue

Citizenship: U.S.A.
